The "Venice of the East" Alleppey (Alappuzha) known the world over for the Nehru trophy Boat race or Land of Boat race has a history of its own.Alappuzha is a landmark between the broad Arabian Sea and net work of rivers flowing into it. The district attained progress in all spheres.
Malankara Syrian Orthodox church founded by Apostle St.Thomas, had to wait till 1920 to establish the church at Alappuzha town. This was made possible only by the efforts of eminent ancestors after prolonged litigations. We pray in our hearts to those ancestors who have labored to establish the church at Alappuzha in the name of St. Thomas under the diocese of Niranam.
St.Thomas Orthodox Church, Alappuzha dedicate this website to all the people of the world especially having roots from in and around Alappuzha and having ancestors in our church as well as Malankara Orthodox Church, to stay connected and to share their feelings ,happiness ,sorrows join together in a prayer for needy, sick and old age parents.
